Celebrity makeup artist Mary Greenwell has partnered with Silhouette to give some quick tips below on beauty trends to look out for this season. With clients from Gisele Bündchen to Gwyneth Paltrow and Penelope Cruz to Princess Diana, Mary Greenwell is one of the world’s most sought after makeup artists. o Big false eyelashes! Choose lashes that sweep out at the corner – very retro sixties. You can even add false lashes on the bottom outside corner for extra definition. o Floral eyeshadow colors. Bright greens, blues, corals and pinks were popular on the catwalks, but lilac and mauve, as seen at Michael Kors, Versace and Dior, were a hit. Brush them all over the lid and up to the brow to achieve a bright, springtime look. And for added drama, bleached brows are also in this season. o Let eyes shine through with rimless eyeglasses. Eyes are the windows to the soul, and to hide your eyes is to hide your personality. The eyes, including the brow, are very important to reveal your whole beauty and rimless glasses allow someone to see your entire face. Whether your style is classic and minimal, extravagant or luxurious, Silhouette flatters your best features. Add some Spring sass to your look with Silhouette’s exquisite collection. The elegant style statement can complement your spring makeup style and wardrobe. o Take care of yourself: Always apply eye cream and a daily moisturizer. Smile lines and crows feet can be aging, so keep the little wrinkles at bay! Don’t bog your system down with sugars and fats, and protect your body from free radicals with Vitamins C and E. Drink plenty of water to help prevent dry eyes – they will sparkle more if you eat the right foods. Labels: Spring Beauty Tips

Can a small jeweler make a piece of jewelry that will be worn to the Oscars? We think so, and we’ll soon find out as we follow the design and journey of an Oscar-worthy piece in the Green Spot Studio Oscar Challenge. Green Spot Studio's Tracey Jenkins Darji, one of Boston’s most renowned jewelers, has set off to make a piece of jewelry that will be worn to the Oscars. Just to give you a sense of her amazing work, I’ve scattered photos of a few of her existing pieces through this post. Indulge is thrilled to track the design, creation and travels of her Oscar-worthy piece (still in the developmental phases) over the next few months as it makes its way up and down red carpets, shines through photo shoots and eventually ends up at the Oscars. Tracey writes on her jewelry blog, “A fashion designer can spend 1 or 2k on fabric and labor and come up with an amazing gown. Jewelers, on the other hand, usually spend at least 100k, on the low end. Celebrities are so excited to say their jewelry is worth 2M and up. How can small jewelers compete with that?” But, she has taken on the task and writes, “Over the next couple of weeks I will outline the entire challenge, share my design ideas, budget, materials, and thought behind why I am making my choices… and then the photos will start coming!” Tracey! We are thrilled for you! Tracey is a celebrity in my eyes for sitting with my fiancé and designing and creating my incredible engagement ring (ok... since you INSISTED on seeing it- here is a picture of my engagement ring :), but her exceptional experience in the jewelry world goes beyond my ring. In 2002, Tracey obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a minor in Industrial Design, following studies that were concentrated in Florence, Italy and Boston, MA but also brought her throughout North America and Europe. After a brief but successful stint as a consultant in the Corporate Art world, she returned to school and her earliest passion, graduating the North Bennet Street School’s prestigious two-year Jewelry Making & Repair program in the spring of 2005. We'll be following Tracey's progress as this amazing piece of jewelry evolves! In the meantime, visit Green Spot Studio for more information or to contact Tracey. Or, follow her on Facebook or Twitter. Labels: Green Spot Studio Oscar Challenge, Oscar-worth jewelry

Have you ever noticed that some earrings highlight your face beautifully, yet others seem too small or too heavy-looking? That is because the shape of your face makes a big difference as to how earrings look on you. David Mamane, CEO of largest online jewelry boutique MyJewelryBox.com offers tips on what styles work best with your face frame.
Oval Face: Since oval faces are well proportioned, studs and smaller hoops work best in order to not make a face look too long. Round Face: Chandelier or dangling earrings are the best match for the classic round face shape as they draw attention to the cheekbones and jaw line and can balance out a wider forehead. Hoops are not a good match for a round face as they make the face appear rounder. Heart-Shaped Face: The best earrings for a heart-shaped face can be chosen by considering earrings that are heavier at the bottom. Also, Earrings in bold designs and bright colors will draw attention to your cheekbones. Square Face: Earrings that have rounded edges look best because they will soften a square face. Medium to long styles are best but large, angular styles can make a square face appear wider.
